About this Activity
What technology helped spark the Renaissance, Reformation, Age of Enlightenment, and Scientific Revolution? The answer, the letterpress. Different from today’s digitized printers, the letterpress engraves directly into the print. Intima Press invites you to demystify this historic machine in this one-day workshop where you'll learn the basics of image printing, crafting homemade images, and printing an edition. You will also discover the secrets behind carving and using the letterpress, printing a series of images, as well as the “green” way to make printed images for art or greeting cards, in your own home. Maybe you can design your own pamphlet, distribute it around town, and just maybe, start a revolution.
