About this Activity
Ready to explore the vertical world of aerial ropes and silks? This open class will help you learn the ropes (no pun intended!) of this airborne activity. It starts with a focus on learning how to transition fluidly from the ground all the way back up into the air. You will utilize efficient climbing techniques to navigate the apparatus while working on inversions, postures, locks, and wraps. The class takes place in a fun, nurturing environment that provides clear and constructive feedback as you sharpen your skills. Come learn this air dance at your own pace with individualized attention and build your confidence as a performer!

About the Teacher
Kiebpoli Calnek is an actress and corde lisse aerialist. Her works have received generous funding and support from Elizabeth Streb, Astrea Foundation, Asian Arts Initiative, and The New York Foundation for the Arts. She is also founder and artistic director of BLACK*ACROBAT, a community that empowers people of color through the vertical world of aerial acrobatics and with devised theatrical performances.
