Come see and walk the notorious streets of the East Village and the Lower East Side in New York City! This activity includes a neighborhood walking tour followed by a fascinating visit to the American Gangster museum. You will explore places that were home to such sordid activities as crime, prostitution, murders, and grave robberies. Hear the stories of this once densely populated area where various gangsters met and drank, committed crimes, or got “whacked.” You’ll visit Tompkins Square Park and learn about a tragic boat fire that changed the face of this neighborhood. You will also visit sites like the Jewish gangster hangout, the Cooper restaurant, Stuyvesant casino, and Lucky Luciano’s home. The tour ends appropriately at the Museum of the American Gangster for a guided museum tour, where you will experience, first hand, the true meaning of the word “gangster.”
Note: Food during your lunch break is not covered in the tour price. You will be notified of the meeting location after your booking is confirmed.
