About this Activity
During this delicious class, you'll learn how to make your own silky chocolate bars out of unroasted cacao beans. First, you'll embark on a tour of Raaka Chocolate's factory in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where you'll get to taste virgin cacao from different regions of the world. After comparing the different bold flavors, you'll have the chance to pour your own bars in Raaka Chocolate's molds!
At the end of the class, you'll not only have hand-crafted bars to take home, but also the knowledge to make many more to fulfill your heart's desires!

Took the chocolate making class from Joe at Raaka and thoroughly enjoyed the extensive tour, learning how they make their chocolate, from it's bean source to packaging the bars. It was fun to make our own chocolate bars and bring them home. Joe is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and funny. Highly recommended.

I live down the street from here and stopped in a few months ago.
We were immediately given tons of samples and were told about eat of the chocolates we tried. There is no limit on the free samples here and they are all REALLY amazing.
If you reach out to them on social media, they are responsive and kind.
They were so nice, personable, and made us want to keep coming back!
I got a tour as a gift for family and am curious to see what their thoughts are.

One shop I loved at the Brayana Park Winter Festival was Roaka Chocolate. They're a vegan, gluten free, nut free chocolate company. The flavors include Pink Sea Salt, Maple & Nibs, Coconut Milk, Yacon, Ghost Pepper, Smoked Chai, Bourbon Cask Aged, Mint & Nibs, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Banana Foster. They were giving out free samples of every flavor and I think I tried every one Each flavor was better than the next. I had trouble choosing which to buy, but bought Coconut milk and Pink Sea Salt.

On my second visit to Raaka Chocolate factory I took my 5th grade students with me. Imagine 30 kids and in this amazing Chocolate Factory!!! We absolutely loved the experience and my kids can't stop talking about all the chocolate that they tried. Even for our non-dark chocolate eaters (even me), you will love it and want more. Surprisingly my kids were in awe with the label machine lol.
My students say they want to go back, and I know I do. The staff is so accommodating and fun, their passion is clear no matter who you work with. Great job to Ronald dealing with 30 excited kids at once!!
Their products are sold worldwide, but they say to try whole foods if you can't make it to the factory. I bought 5 more bars to go and could kick myself for not buying an entire box more!! I've said it before, please visit this local small business. You will be delighted you did.

My SO and I came for a tour on a Sat afternoon. We drove right into BK, and found parking right on the street.
The tour lasted about a hour and was extremely informative. We got to try out different cocoa beans from different countries. We were able to see how the beans are grind down to make chocolate. Best parts of the tour? Trying out the chocolate as they made it and then testing out all their chocolate bars. Basically gaining 10lbs in the hour I was there!
Will look forward to buying their chocolate at my local Whole Foods.

So so so amazing. Ohmygod so good. Really comprehensive tour and all of the chocolate was SO tasty. I bought six bars guys, six bars. They have flavors I have not seen anywhere (thai basil? spiced chai?). I love the purity and honesty of their chocolate (THREE ingredients: cacao, cacao butter and organic sugar.)
