I went on Monday Sept 11, 2017 right after work- I was tired, but once the door was locked... it was on!!! We did the Alice in Wonderland room- we didn't escape. We gave each other high fives as well as hugs when we listened and no one got an attitude. I'd say the best part was how friendly everyone was especially the staff. I'm going back on Friday to try another room. I highly recommend the Riddle Me Out experience.

This isn't one of those rooms where you gather up a bunch of clues and figure them out in any order. You're not getting to the next one before you solve this one first; it's a very linear setup. I thought some of the props were a bit on the cheap side, but nonetheless we had fun, four of us along with two perfect strangers. Try as we did, we were a few minutes shy of getting out. It's a fun activity to do with friends.

I tried out this challenge with 3 friends. We attempted bank heist and I was pleasantly surprised by the challenge and the need for brain power. Although we failed because we're stupid, the clues were all ingenious I would definitely recommend others to try out these unique puzzles. If you want to discover how smart (or stupid) you and your friends are, come try this out located in the heart of Manhattan!

This is my favorite escape game in the entire city. The facility is super high tech. The staff is very friendly and will do their absolute best to accommodate you and your party. This is a great quick activity in the city for you and your friends. Come check it out and thank me later.
This is my second time at riddle me out. I would just like to say that my second experience was just as good as my first and I look forward to coming back to try out the last game !

We did the room was bank heist. Very very tricky if you don't get all the clues. We didn't make it in 60 minutes. When the guy came in and showed us all the clues we missed we were like "duuuhhh! Why didn't we do that!" But it was very fun. I've tried most of the ones in Los Angeles so trying one outside of California was fun. The staff was amazing! Loved everything about the place.

Super nice staff. Well engineered clues and clever puzzles. We have played the jailbreak and the bank heist. We preferred the heist, but both games were great.

We are 2 for 3 here (which ain't bad). This is one of the best escape room experiences I've ever had, and I've been to many. The sets, props, clues, environments were great. Lots of attention to detail. Alice in Wonderland is BEAUTIFUL!
I hope they create another room. Their customer service is great and I was a little sad to leave when we finished the third room!

Looking for something different to do in the city? Escape room, so fun.
I wanted to do something unique on my birthday so we tried Riddle Me Out; since my favorite movie is Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland we decided to try that one.
Overall this was a really fun experience, where strangers in your group become teammates to figure out clues and various "puzzles" to "escape" the room in an hour. As other reviewers pointed out this themed room is more whimsical and not as rational/ reason focused as others.
When you solve clues together, everyone gets excited, and at one point when I worked with another woman in the group to figure out a completely far fetched clue we were so excited we hugged.
Meanwhile, though, many in the group were "stuck" on a clue, heading down the wrong path, for about one third the allotted 60 minutes. I left that clue to work on other parts of the puzzle enlisting another teammate's support but it was a big time waster for most of the group and a little personalized pointer would have moved things along when no one was "getting it."
The room, while fun, in the words of The Door, "why it (seems) simply impassable!"
Alice: "Why, don't you mean impossible?"
Door: "No, I do mean impassible. (chuckles) Nothing's impossible!"
Even Alice had The Mad Hatter helping her thru the impassable and the experience could benefit from more in room clues or a a little more personalized guide support.
In my only other escape room experience, at another place, the guide overseeing the room (with cameras) when necessary provided a personalized clue/ pointer to help things along and minimize frustration -- which did not happen here and would have helped. The "voice" that provided a little support (though not when it was most needed by the group struggling) seemed computerized and not a real person (or the guide we later met) specifically helping our group. I.e. Not personalized.
Clues are offered every five minutes or so via a computerized screen and a few times over an intercom. That is a great format. Though, again, if more clear and beyond impassable in room clues are not provided, some personalized support at a couple points would improve the Alice escape room.
- Without the computer and voice clues, some of the clues/ "puzzles" would have been impossible to figure out.
- While everyone was busy collaborating, the intercom voice sometimes wasn't heard and by the time everyone quieted, we missed some of the clue content. A personalized guide could have repeated the clue so everyone could hear. Or at least played the recorded clue again.
- Also, the final clue leading to the escape - which I was working on with my friend had a "flaw" - but it is Alice in wonderland so perhaps one could say nothing even flawed in design and delivery is flawed in Wonderland.
I am rational and somewhat competitive so I definitely wanted to escape the room at the end of the fun... despite the lack of reason behind Alice and the rabbit hole.
I am enthusiastic to try a room where the clues and theme are rational and would probably try one of Riddle Me Out's more rational themed rooms.

We did the Alice in Wonderland escape. 80% of the time was spent standing in a room trying to figure out what to do next. None of the clues were obvious or fun to "solve". We spent the last 10+ minutes trying to figure out how to find the last clue. No logic was involved here; and when they explained to us how we would have found it; we were baffled! There was no way we could have made that ridiculous connection!
We had SUCH a good time at the zombie escape where the puzzles were analytical and linked to other clues. We had high expectations for this place too. Staff was great and the set was fun.

We did the Alice in wonderland room and we were all very disappointed.
We've done several escape rooms before and this was the weirdest one of all. Clues were all mixed up and didn't involve any logic in solving them.
Also the hints we would ask for were less than helpful.
Staff was nice though.

This is my first game with Riddle Me Out and I enjoyed it.
We did the Bank Heist which was a fun room. it was the two of us with 2 other people who got there late but were lucky enough to be let in.
We were told that the room was ment for 6-8ppl however I feel the four of us were super tight during portions of the game (NO SPOILERS).
I am not a fan of red hearing in my games and they had a few.
I also enjoy games in which once you use an item it is done and that wasn't the case here either.
The rooms are in descent shape and they rely pretty heavily on art work for immersion.
Over all I enjoyed the game and would try them again?

I have done a few escape the rooms in the past and I thought yours was really great. I liked the story-line behind the escape and I liked that you had clues available at set times. I also thought it was great that you did not give us anything that was not applicable to the escape as I have seen in other places. It was usually pretty clear what to do with each thing we found as long as we put our minds to it.
Thank you for a great experience!

We went down the rabbit hole and it was a ton of fun! My friends and I have done a couple of "escape rooms" before, and the Alice in Wonderland escape at Riddle Me Out was the best one yet. Completely blew the others out of the park!
Not going to give away any secrets or hints, but the decorations were really well done and easily took us away to Wonderland. There were so many cute surprises around every corner :)
The puzzles were, for the most part, well thought out, although the hint system could use a bit of tweaking since my friends and I were stuck for the last 15 minutes since the hints that were left, we had already figured out.
Will definitely be back for the other two!

Overall this was another great Escape the Room experience with lots of fun conversation afterwards. This was my second experience having previously done "Escape the room with a zombie" (which was off the charts by the way). I must say this experience was very different, primarily in that there weren't many clues to put together in comparison so what ended up happening was that our only guy in the group ended up kind of being the brains of the operation and us three girls were kind of just trying to figure out the little things and assist him... where as in my the zombie experience I got to contribute a lot even though we had 7 people in the group. The tasks were very complicated and sophisticated, and this will definitely make me more open minded in my further escape challenges which I plan to do :) I would recommend this even for just a couple because that way you participate and think more. Great Times!!!
