I was expecting a tour where we just went to a bunch of different places and ate. It was nice that Scott has such a great passion for pizzas and all that information he shared (the dough, the cheese, the ovens, the temperature etc). I enjoyed that aspect of it.

The whole tour was the best part! :) I'm in the process of writing a review that will be on my blog that will be more detailed.

My daughter, grandson and I took this tour for my grandson's high school graduation trip to New York. It was fantastic and Scott is really knowledgeable and makes the tour fun. I really didn't think there was a lot to know about pizza. I was wrong. There is so much to learn and Scott really gives you good tips on how to make your pizza at home. We took the Crosstown tour and I have never ate better pizza anywhere. My grandson loved it and wanted to take another tour, but we did not have the time. I will definitely take another tour when I return to New York. Thanks Scott, everything was GREAT.

The pizza tour was very entertaining and informative. Scott is very passionate about pizza and it shows when you walk the streets with him. He is very knowledgeable and can answer any question you have about pizza. We even got some great tips on how to improve our at-home pizza baking! Of course, we went to some of the best pizza places around, and Scott will suggest others as well. We highly recommend this tour and may even take another tour with Scott (we took the Crosstown tour - he also offers a Greenwich Vilage tour) when we go back to NYC. Thanks, Scott, for a great time! From your Barbecue Buddies!

First of all, let me say that my teens chose the crosstown pizza tour from a "things to do in NYC with teens" article, and I was secretly less than enthusiastic about spending 3 hours of our day learning about pizza. That said, the tour had no where to go but up in my expectations, but I am so happy to report that not only is Scott a dynamic, spirited, and interesting guy, but that his interest in history and pizza is not only strong, but infectious. We had a fantastic time, learned a lot, and just genuinely enjoyed the afternoon visiting different areas of Manhattan and munching on pizza from some of his favorite spots.
We learned about brick oven vs gas oven pizza preparation, different styles of pizza and how they evolved over time, how pizza came to be in the first place, it's roots in NYC, how to stretch pizza dough the proper way (will be very helpful for when we make pizzas at home!), and visited the manufacturer of a hand crafted pizza oven made right in Soho. My kids were fascinated, and have been saying things like "That's what Scott would say" ever since the tour. They loved this guy, and want to send him pizza boxes for his collection, and buy his book whenever it comes out.

We'd been recommended this tour by some friends - and will definitely recommend it to other food lovers. Scott's love and knowledge about all things pizza was phenomenal, and it made us appreciate different pizzas in a new way - I don't think I'll ever look at or taste a 'pie' (pizza slice in NY slang) in the same way! Thank you for a fab tour!

Just returned from NYC. The highlight of our trip was Scott's pizza tour. Scott shared his interest and enthusiasm for the history and art of pizza making. We had behind the scenes experience tasting 4 different styles of pizza. He was genuine, informative and engaging that is unparalleled to any other tour we had ever taken. Trust me, take the tour before he scores some gig on the food or travel channel!

Scott is a great tour guide, full of information, creates a fun atmosphere and the people who come on his tours are so inspired that it makes for a great social fun as well. The pizzas were good, the discussion intelligent and enlightening. Fun, educational, tasty. What more can you ask for?

When you think about the thousands of attractions that you can visit in New York City, it's surprising that this is so high on the list of things to do. But let me tell you, you will not be disappointed....As long as you like pizza of course!
Don't book this if you just want to eat loads of pizza, book this if you want to eat some of the best pizza NYC has to offer whilst being informed of the history of some of these great pizzerias, by a great pizza enthusiast.

Scott is a fantastic and engaging tour guide with an amazing knowledge about pizza, it's history and the different ways it is cooked and made. This tour is well paced, the pizza places are interesting and the pizza absolutely delicious. A fun day out and suitable for the whole family.
