The Lower East Side Eats Food Tour

What to expect
  • Check out a funky mix of trendy boutiques, mom-and-pop shops, and cozy cafes located on the Lower East Side
  • Try mouthwatering food from century old authentic Jewish delis and bakeries without having to wait in line
  • Learn about the culture and history of the neighborhood and its gentrification
Don't fall for the culinary tourist traps. You do NOT need to pay $15 for French fries in Times Square. No burger should cost $25 unless it's twenty pounds of deliciousness. If you're looking to have some real New York food, nothing embraces that notion quite like the Lower East Side. Once the ethnic epicenter -- from Jewish to Russian to Indian immigrants -- you'll dive right into the history and culture of this neighborhood by the most sensible means... your stomach. Of course, this food tour includes everything from famous Jewish delis to the best Chinese dumplings in NYC, and even the city's best doughnut shop, Doughnut Plant. If you're looking to eat elsewhere, fugetaboutit!

Note: 205 East Houston Street (outside in front of Katz's Deli, in front of the sign that says "Known as the best since 1888."

The sign is on the Ludlow Street side of Katz's. Katz's is on the corner of East Houston Street and Ludlow St. If you're late and miss the group outside, go inside the Deli to find your tour guide. Physical proof of vaccination card is required and 1 dose of vaccine is enough. Children 12 y/o and under DO NOT have to be vaccinated but must wear a mask when not eating
