We took the pizza, beer and history tour. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Dante was our guide and he was excellent. All the pizza choice were delicious and Dante provided interesting info about all types of Greenwich village history.

I did the pizza beer and history tour around the West Village with Dante. Dante was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and passionate about the area and good company during the pizza and beer. The tour does what it says - you visit 3 different pizza places and have 3 different styles of classic NY pizza, and a couple of typical bars in the area with a good selection of local and imported beers. Not for people who are on a diet or who only like fine dining, but recommended if you are visiting and want to have a couple of hours of typical NY food with some history of the area between the places you visit.

We visited three pizzerias and two bars in Greenwich Village during the Pizza, Beer and History Tour. Dante was our tour guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although I am a local, it was good learn more about Manhattan from someone who has more familiarity with the area. I would definitely visit the village again for a slice of artichoke pizza.

We took this tour about a month ago for my sister's birthday. There were 9 of us on the tour and it was a very rainy, cold day but we had fun despite the weather. Our tour guide Mike was very knowledgeable, both about the history of the West Village as well as the history of how pizza is made! We learned a lot about the different kinds of pizza in NYC, the different methods of cooking/ovens that are used, and learned a lot about Prohibition as well. We had beer in what was an old speakeasy. The tour is about three hours total, and you get two full beers and a sample of three different kinds of pizza. All the pizza places were so yummy, and in a city where there are TONS of pizza places, it was nice to try the few that are excellent quality. The beers were great as well. Although I wish the weather had been better, my group and I had a great time. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys pizza and beer, and who is interested in the vast history of the West Village.

I wish there was a button to push to make this a 6 Star tour. It was truly off the charts! Josh was fantastic in setting us up with a "private" tour for our party of 13 and gave us a fantastic tour guide! This was a 50th birthday celebration with friends. This tour is great for all ages…21 and over that is! Donte is a native New Yorker and was full of knowledge. We saw everything the village had to offer, and drank and ate pizza too! From the club where Hendrix started to the set of Friends and Mad Men. Donte was friendly, smart, and let us get as loud as we wanted…our volume was an issue when we were shushed on the subway. He even "embraced" our own personal group leader, Billy, and let him share the spotlight! When I say embraced, I am pretty sure they hugged at the end! It was truly the highlight of our NYC day trip from Maryland! You have to do this tour!

Fantastic Tour in the West Village! On this tour you will taste delicious pizza, drink great beer, visit historic landmarks and learn of the colorful characters and celebrities who were affluent in the West Village. The tour was fun and so informative! While walking to the next destination, our guide Mike discussed interesting facts and pointed out historic sites that you would not be likely to find on a tourist map. Also, a lot of stories you may not find in Frommers! The pizza was delicious and while tasting you will hear the history of pizza and pizza making! I now have a new appreciation for all types of pizza. I highly recommend this tour, and cannot wait to take the Lower East Side Food Tour next!
