    High Line Park Walking Tour

High Line Park was once the High Line, an elevated freight railroad track that connected trains directly to factories and warehouses. In 1847, street-level railroads allowed freight trains to utilize Manhattan's West Side as their main thoroughfare. New York's "West Side Cowboys" assisted in managing the traffic, however because so many accidents occurred, the city and state of New York and the New York Central Railroad constructed the High Line as part of the Manhattan West Side Improvement Project. After the High Line was no longer used, it was commissioned into High Line Park. This two-hour walking tour of High Line Park takes you through the trendy Meatpacking District and into the Collier Publishing building, then along the 1.45 mile (2.33-kilometer) length of the park, which was once this elevated rail track. Your professional, knowledgeable guide will take you from the beginning of the Manhattan's West Side history through to the inception of the High Line, while identifying the unique plant life now inhabiting the former railroad tracks. This region has been developed with public art, and the native greenery has been incorporated with the long forgotten tracks to create a spectacular, dynamic park. You will see magnificent views of the New York City skyline as well as the Hudson River. You will also have the opportunity to visit the White Star Pier, where the survivors of Titanic disembarked, as well as the old Nabisco factory, where the Oreo Cookie was invented.

    Pippin on Broadway

Book your tickets to the acclaimed musical ‘Pippin’ at the Music Box Theatre in New York City. The coming-of-age tale of the eponymous prince delicately balances bubbly theatrics (think gymnastics and catchy show tunes) with a thoughtful plot, making it suitable for teens and adults. Watch this high-energy performance during a matinee or evening show. Originally opened on Broadway in 1972, this musical is a coming-of-age story in itself. The popular production about the young, conflicted prince has grown to be more than just a song and dance show—it now adds circus to its repertoire. Pippin is a high-energy performance that can pleasantly surprise even the most reluctant theatergoers.

See for yourself as trapeze artists soar across the stage, performers pedal unicycles and contortionists bend their bodies into positions almost as unimaginable as being a teenager in the Middle Ages. So sets the scene for the tale of the title character, a prince who is searching for meaning and passion in his young life. Watch the Leading Player narrate Pippin’s life as he goes to war, plans a revolution, murders his father Charlemagne, and falls in love with a widow named Catherine. Throughout the performance, adults can appreciate the complex plot themes, and teenagers can relate to aspects of the protagonist’s life; if nothing else, everyone will enjoy the sensational gymnastics, score and choreography.

See Pricing for details on how to book your matinee or evening show now! Note: All seats are guaranteed to be in the top-price section, either the Orchestra or Front Mezzanine. Exact seats will be assigned by the theater box office and will not be known in advance of the performance date. This show is not appropriate for children 8 years and younger
