Take this tour to learn the history behind the iconic New York subway -- all the art, all the history, all the technical breakthroughs, all the "whys" and all the shenanigans that went into this spectacular achievement.

Start on the southern tip of Lower Manhattan at Bowling Green and delve into the underground subway system to begin your tour. Get a look at the subway that few people, even lifelong New Yorkers, usually see. Work your way up along the original 1904 system and through Times Square.

Explore the areas of the system that are open to the public (not the tunnels) but in most cases overlooked. You'll finish off at Grand Central Terminal, ending with a discussion of the exterior of this iconic station.

Unravel the tangled web that runs just beneath your feet with this informative tour.
