Virtual Reality Experience (HTC Vive - Saturday)

    (29)
Did you ever dream of being able to breathe underwater so that you could watch as whales drift by? Or to fight a laser battle without having to worry about getting Darth-Mauled? What if you could paint a masterpiece without spending a penny on oil paint or turpentine? Hey, that stuff can get expensive! What if you could cast spells that put Harry P to shame? Experience it all with this VR tutorial! VR, AKA Virtual Reality, is one of the hottest up-and-coming technologies -- and for plenty good reason. Experiences many of us could only ever imagine are now available to everyone -- all in the eye of the beholder. Turn your head, and the scenery changes, too. Like you're actually there! Discover what it's like to step into someone else's shoes, quite literally. When you sign up for this 45-minute experience, you'll get the chance to view up to 5 demos in the first 15 minutes, and then choose one or two to play longer. Don't worry if you're a bit rusty at first -- an instructor will be at your side, watching your journey on the screen and guiding you through the entire experience. Good luck, Neo. See you on the other side.

    Sushi Making 101 (BYOB)

    (16)
Kon'nichiwa, chef-in-the-making! Come in, have a seat. On your chair you will find an apron, a sushi handout and your very own rolling mat. Did you know sushi dates back to the 7th century in Japan? After a quick class introduction, you'll get a briefing on the not-so-brief history of sushi. You'll learn the difference between sushi rice and regular old white grain, get all the need-to-know details about nori, and then you'll be ready to start your own masterpiece. Get excited! The three rolls you'll learn in this class will cover a variety of ingredients and roll shapes that will be invaluable to your future in sushi making. A chef will craft you through your first cucumber maki roll, then show you how to make an inside-out tuna maki roll. Lastly, you'll learn to make a crab avocado maki roll. We hope you've worked up an appetite by then, because after it's all said and done, you'll get to eat your own creations! To wash it down, the class is BYOBWS (Bring Your Own Beer, Wine or Sake) so that you can sip and roll your sushi in style! (Feel free to bring alcohol if you prefer, but please no hard liquor. We want you to remember your experience!)
