You are the one that has seen every Bruce Lee movie and loves Japanese culture. This samurai sword fighting class dedicated to Samurai Sword Soul Style is the perfect way to feed those interests. Each class will walk you through a 3-step process based on Waki Style Tate, Kendo, Karate, Iaido and Japanese Classical Dance. First, you will practice basic sword techniques, such as gripping, breathing, and footwork. Next, you will experiment with sword contact via offensive and defensive moves. Finally, you'll learn choreography, which recognizes samurai sword fighting as both a martial and performing art. Perfect for anyone looking to improve their concentration and try something entirely new, you'll channel that inner samurai in no time!

Note: Please wear comfortable gym clothes to move around (and sweat) in. A wooden sword will be provided for you.

All students must be fully vaccinated and must wear masks during the class. Entrance to the building will only be allowed 10 minutes before the class starts. Payment should be done by credits cards at the front desk

Yoshi Amao was born and raised in Japan where he began acting, emceeing, and learning Japanese traditional dance. Since coming to New York in 1990, Yoshi has been entertaining New Yorkers on TV, stage, and various events as a samurai/martial artist and actor/voice talent. He has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon, respectively, and is well known as the emcee for the European hit TV game show Big In Japan.
