Silver Springs Monkey Kayak Tour

The Silver River, a spring fed river, is so clear that you will be able to see everything underneath the water and along the banks. Tropical plants and wildlife are in abundance as well as the wildlife such as alligators, turtles, river otters, black bears, owls, egrets, storks and the Rhesus monkeys.

The history of this river actually dates back to the 1800's where many Civil War veterans came to Florida for the healing environment of the tropical air and artisan waters. In 1878, glass bottom boats created opportunities to view the underwater life of the springs was the first eco-tourist attraction in the USA. Nearly 140 years later, Silver Springs is still teeming with natural wonders.

Your tour starts with an enchanting paddle down a kayak trail for about 1 mile until you reach the Silver River. From there, head 4-miles downstream through one of the world's most beautiful waterways. Your guide will provide you with history of the region, point out native plants, invasive species and of course, monkeys!

Be prepared to take lots of photos as iridescent blue fish swim past your kayak. Spot turtles and alligators sunning themselves on river logs, look up to see a variety of exotic birds fly by and listen for the chatter of the Rhesus monkeys in the trees above.

If you cancel at least 7 days in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 3 and 6 days in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50 percent cancellation fee.If you cancel within 2 day of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
