    Iaido and Aikido

    Simply put, Aikido takes the joint locks and throws from Jujitsu and combines them with the body movements of sword and spear fighting. This introductory Iaido and Aikido class will teach you basic locks, throws, strikes, and blocks as well as an introduction to sword handling.     All Levels Roda

    Samba isn't the only dance to come out of Brazil! Capoeira hides deadly kicks, punches and sweeps behind graceful dance moves. Developed by slaves who wanted to hoodwink their masters into believing they were dancing and singing while they were secretly plotting rebellion, this rhythmic martial art is steeped in Brazilian tradition. You'll get very fit very quickly as you practice the acrobatic moves to the music from traditional instruments (which you'll eventually learn to play yourself). Take turns entering the circle, or "open Roda," two at a time to engage in a physical dialogue of attack and defense.
