Meet your guide across from Philadelphia's City Hall, the cultural and geographic heart of central Philadelphia, to begin your walking tour of downtown, also known as Center City.
Head east to the Wanamaker Building, which hosts a performance of one of the world's largest pipe organs! After the concert, walk to the Reading Terminal, a US National Historic Landmark. Downstairs, explore the dynamic Reading Terminal Market, where you can grab a bite to eat (own expense) and smell the aromas of cuisines from around the world.
Then, head to Love Park for a photo opportunity and enjoy some classic street food from a vendor (own expense). Continue up Ben Franklin Parkway, lined with international flags.
Your next stop is Logan Square, where you'll enter the breathtaking Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Cross the square, passing Swann Fountain, and enter the grand lobby of the Franklin Institute, a museum that's one of the oldest centers of science education and development in the US, dating back to 1824.
Next, head to one of the newest attractions in Philadelphia -- the massive LED TV screen at the Comcast Building. From there, enter one of the city's largest shopping and restaurant districts, where you'll be introduced to an iconic Italian cheese shop, and then stop at the Philly Pretzel Factory for a classic soft pretzel or refreshing Italian ice.
Walk along Broad Street, also known as Avenue of the Arts, to see a diverse mix of classic and modern architecture of banks, hotels, theaters and clubs. You'll also get a sense of local art culture on a stroll through Midtown Village, an area featuring public art murals.
Stop by one of Philly's newest theaters, the Kimmel Center, and then walk through the beautiful residential neighborhood of Rittenhouse. Your tour will conclude at Rittenhouse Square.
