When Lewis & Clark reached the mouth of what we now call the Sandy River in 1805, they called it the "Quicksand River" due to a Mt. Hood eruption only a few years prior to their exploration. Follow this beautiful river toward the town of Sandy, Oregon, past Oregon's tallest peak, Mt. Hood, over the National Forest toward the city of Cascade Locks, Oregon on the Columbia River and venture west back toward Troutdale. This tour is truly a beauty and will permit countless photographic memories.
