The best part was that my family had young people to elderly, but everyone was able to be involved! We kind of do similar activities for birthdays or celebrations and this was a good way to have us all involved and doing something new.

We had a great time! Sarah was an excellent gamemaster.

Creative, challenging, and fun! Exceeded all expectations. We made it out with 1 minute to go! But it’s all about the adventure getting there. We’ll definitely be back.

We did the Portlandia room. It’s not scary as some people might think, though it is a lot of fun! We had 3 ph.d’s, two brilliant neurologists, 5 other extremely intelligent folks with advanced graduate degrees and jobs that require the skills of a rocket scientist and we did not make the cut! However, our kind host came in and allowed us the extra five minutes to solve the final riddle for our own satisfaction. I think a group of savvy puzzlers would make it out in time. We weren’t too intense about it and went into it for fun and we all had a great time!

My favorite part was how the clues were a challenge, it was slot of fun finding them!

Had a great time looking forward to trying the other rooms!

So fun! Sara was awesome at explaining everything and encouraging our team! We were a 4 person team, parents and a 17 & 15 year old. We escaped with one minute and one second left. Would have been a blast even if we wouldn't have escaped. We will be back to try a different room.

Just went to do my first room escape, and it was awesome! The room was challenging but not impossible, and the clues and hidden things made it fun and entertaining! Sarah was awesome, and we will definitely be returning!

Brought some family for their first time at an escape game and it was awesome. I have only done one of these somewhere else outside of Portland but this one was fantastic (Sherlock's escape).
Kirin (sorry about the spelling) was inviting, enthusiastic, and informative. We will be back soon for the other two escapes! Thank you for showing us a great experience!

60 min - portlandia room. The experience was awesome! The lady leading us that day was also super quirky and nice.
This would be a great team building exercise with a group of 6-8 and you get to see how people act in a timed situation that requires tact
Don't forget to use your clues - they are there for a reason!!

First time escape room competitor! We had a
Blast! Amnesia was the room that we tried-- very well thought out, tricky in most cases but I really appreciated the mind games. Sara was our game host and she did a wonderful job welcoming us and making our experience a 5-star one. It was challenging but entertaining, we will definitely be going back.

I recently came to Escape Games PDX with coworkers as a team building exercise. I really didn't know what to expect, having never done something like this before, and the experience was fantastic! We successfully completed the Amnesia room with a few minutes to spare, although I would note that this room is probably better served with a slightly smaller group. We had 7 people and often it felt chaotic, with multiple people attempting to solve multiple puzzles as once. Of course that could have just been the nature of our group, but regardless, fun was had and we all left with a greater sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.
Sara, or game host was awesome, very thorough with her instructions and clear when we needed a clue, and when we encountered a small malfunction in one of the puzzles. As any good game master, she did well to set the scene before we began, and clarified the narrative of the Amnesia Room once we completed all the tasks. She even gave as an additional confidence boost at the end by noting that the Amnesia Room only had a 20-something percent solve rate. Go us!
Overall, big thumbs-up for Escape Games PDX. I will now be looking for excuses to come here again!

Had a great time doing two challenging rooms. So much fun and just make sure you check clues!

Quality games, fun host. My buddies and I had the Prison Break to ourselves on a Friday afternoon. It was quite the challenge, but we prevailed. We loved the addition of the guard actor. Super fun. We will definitely come back.

Did the Sherlock room do much fun! Can't wait to come back and try again. Sara was great! Didn't give anything away but did a great job setting the scene!

This place is amazing! I had my fiancé's surprise birthday here, and the owner,Amy, was absolutely terrific at helping me set it up just how I wanted. She even arranged for me to be able to hide my fiancé's best friend that I had flown in from out of state in the room to be found while solving it! The room itself was so well done and challenging. Conrad was an awesome game master! Overall we had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this place!

So much fun! Sara was awesome! This was my first escape room experience and I'm sold on doing it again.

I frequently tell people to go here if they want to have a blast! I've done two of the rooms and would happily do them again. The games are not linear, so you and your friends can find lots of clues, but putting them together is the fun part, and the challenge. The owner is awesome, she really cares about your enjoyment and has created some of the most quality escape rooms ever.

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to do an escape room for a while, and on a random rainy Thursday we decided to go for it! We knew going in with just 2 people would be a challenge but we thought it would be a fun date nonetheless!
We were greeted by Sam, who was super friendly and upbeat! He was also our game master and did a great job! He was so enthusiastic and gave us very clear clues. We did the Sherlock Holmes room. It was really planned out very well and gave me a total adrenaline race! We weren't able to escape but I felt so accomplished and it was a great way to work together!
I've been raving about this place to all of my friends and hope to come back and do the Portlandia room with some coworkers! If you've been wanting to try an escape room, you should really check this place out!

If you are looking for team-building events (or just something fun to do) for your company, this is definitely a good choice.
Our sales & marketing team took on the Amnesia challenge at Escape Games PDX in February 2017. The puzzles were varied and required a real team effort to solve. We barely made it out of the room in the hour allotted and had a boatload of fun doing so.
Our Game Master, Sara, was excellent. She got us up to speed quickly and provided some much-needed hints along the way. Her enthusiasm for the game was certainly contagious.
Escape Games PDX's management team was great to work with in scheduling and re-scheduling our event. They were great to work with.

I recently was at Escape Games, for an event, and Escape Games did a wonderful job of hosting!
I don't want to give away too much of the experience. What I will say, is puzzles!!! I love puzzles. You start in a room with an individual theme. Let's say the room is a "a bar". The room looks like any bar, bar stools, bar counter, coasters, maybe a cozy couch in the corner. It's up to you to find the mostly hidden pieces of the puzzle,
And put them together. Once you solve, you get the key, to "escape" the room, and there is a time limit.
I can't wait to go back, and fully experience Escape Games PDX. I would love to do a group, maybe for my birthday. I think it would also be fun to drop in with a friend, or with my husband... the rest of the groups would be strangers. Would be cool to see how people who do not know each other, work it out to solve!

SO much fun! Seriously - looking for somewhere to bring your kids? Bring your coworkers? Throw a birthday party? Just do it for EVERY occasion!
I've done two of the rooms, Portlandia & Amnesia (the newest one) and they were both challenging but engaging and just a really great time.
The staff is wonderful - enthusiastic and helpful. Amy, the owner is just a gem of a human, so sweet and passionate about people having fun at her place.
I will definitely return and bring ALL of my friends. Next stop, prison break!
Andrew A.Prison Break Escape Room February 28, 2017
've only experienced one other escape venue, the slight edge goes to this one. Before we entered the room they underscored what is not a clue, thus you don't spend time experimenting with ground level light sockets or pondering ceiling level light fixtures. I appreciate that it was non-linear, i.e., one discovery is not required to move onto the next (save the final solution.)
The staff was very friendly. One small upgrade could be to the walkie-talkie quality when requesting a clue as you're barely able to decipher what is being said (but maybe it's by design.)
I attended as part of a Gold Elite event. What a great offering which was also complemented by wine and Pizza from Please Louise.
Don't be shy to attend solo. And this is an effective work team-building opportunity for a very reasonable cost.

Best escape room production in Portland!!! I've done both Sherlock's Secret and Portlandia now, and they are so consistent on the quality of the set/props, clues and overall experience. We met the owner of Escape Games PDX tonight - Amy - and you can sense the passion and pride she has for this business! A great group of staff working here too, making it a very pleasant experience overall.
It is located in an industrial area but not far from downtown at all, plenty of parking and not difficult to find. Yes, they have a very nice, clean bathroom in the building.
Pro-tip: ask everyone to quiet down when your Game Master is giving you hints via the walkie-talkie! It can be difficult to hear sometimes, especially if you have a rowdy crew.

I was just at Escape Games for a friend's birthday party last Friday night, and it was my first time at such a place. We did the Amnesia room, and I'm not going to share too much because it's an experience you must have on your own, but I LOVED it! It was much more challenging that I anticipated but it was so neat to see how the members of our group thought differently and brought original ideas to the table. I would highly recommend this experience and can't wait to go again!
Also - our game master was Conrad and he was very helpful in explaining the process and very fun to work with!

Great place for a team builder or to come with a group of friends. I've played their Sherlock and Amnesia rooms. Obviously can't go into too much details about the rooms themselves, but the concept is amazing and you will have a ton of fun figuring out all the clues and how to get out of the room before the hour is up.
Shelley S.Portlandia: Bikes, Brews & Puzzle Room November 21, 2016
Fun experience...but I'm shocked at the $30/per person price tag. I was thinking I'd be willing to pay $15 for an hour of fun. I think that this is a pricey fun event but I did have fun working with a team of other yelp elites to figure out the clues. The room we were in was awesome...and we didn't finish so it's not easy...so I give 5 stars for the event but putting it down a star for the cost. I don't know if I will ever go back unless there is a great discount because I have a family of 5 and we can't afford this.
Matt E.Sherlock's Secret Escape Room July 2, 2016
By now I've managed to do all three rooms at Escape Games PDX, and I've enjoyed all three for different reasons. However, the common thread between each room is that they've been challenging, engaging and just damn fun experiences for myself and my group! The team at Escape Games PDX is friendly, fun and helpful, and once they have a new concept unveiled to the community, I'll be back to give it a try.
I don't want to say too much about any of the rooms, as discovery is most of the fun. But I'll say that each has it's specific attributes. In my opinion, Sherlock's Secret had the most challenging clues, Prison Break had the best story, and Portlandia had the most WTF moments of hilarity. All three are distinct and top quality.
I'd HIGHLY recommend Escape Games PDX for a fun gathering, be that a team-building exercise or (slightly geeky) birthday party. I'm eager to return!

This place rocks!
Tucked away in the industrial area of NW, there is a mystery waiting to be solved! Escape rooms seem to be the new trend for friends, family or coworkers, and this place does it really well.
You have an hour to escape by solving a variety of puzzles. There are three different themed rooms to choose from, our group did the "Portlandia" themed room. Without giving anything away, it included beer bottles, Portland landmarks and some very cool surprises! A "game master" is watching you the whole time and can let you out at any point, if you are feeling uncomfortable.
It is a very clean and organized space, with plenty of parking. The staff was friendly and genuinely seemed excited about their job. Can't wait to try another one soon!
