  After spending a half-day rafting the White Salmon river with the crew at River Drifters, I can say with confidence that they are a fantastic outfitter. From the time we arrived, hey took excellent care of our group of 6 and everybody had a great time. I'd go on an adventure with the River Drifters crew anytime.
  
  We arrived at 930 in the morning for the half-day trip down the river, a bit worried about the unseasonably cool weather. It turns out, that's a pretty dumb thing to worry about as 1) glacier runoff is generally the same temperature at all times and 2) they had all the gear we could possibly need to stay warm and dry. After getting changed and going through a brief-yet-thorough safety demonstration, we were on the bus to our drop-off location.
  
  We spent the trip going through a series of rapids, mostly class 4 but a couple class 5. We were in a raft with Alex, who was friendly and full of information about the river (and others in the area). He kept us all working as a team, and things always felt in control.
  
  There were a few surprises. First, we had an opportunity to jump off a cliff and into the water, which was awesome. Those that didn't feel up to it had an alternate route available, but only 2 people in the larger group of 4 boats took the chicken route. Also, we were given the chance to "buck the bronco", or ride on the front of the boat, hanging on for dear life. Good times, I tell ya!
  
  The trip went faster than I had imagined, and next time I'd gladly sign up for a full day. This is an awesome activity for summers in the NW, and River Drifters is an awesome outfitter to select. You'll be happy with the choice.

  Simply incredible rafting experience. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and helped to alleviate my concerns of imminent death, hahah. Safety demo was great, and all the gear provided, making for a half-day on the river well-spent.
  
  I'd recommend for anyone new or experienced on rapid rivers, of any athletic ability. Bring your friends for an enriched experience!
  
  Check out Big Man's Rotisserie on the way out for some delicious BBQ!!!

  I had an awesome time at River Drifters! Instead of doing the half day trip, my group went with the full day. I honestly didn't know what to expect on this trip. Despite it being my first time white water river rafting, and not knowing how to swim, I would go again in a heartbeat. My guide, Eric, was great. His instructions were easy to follow, whether you're a novice or a seasoned rafter. Not only that, he showed us some I interesting historical marks. But the best part of the whole trip was when my friend tried to throw me off the raft (he attempted 4 times). And on the third attempt, he failed, but I was successful, with some help from Eric.
  
  If anyone is seeking a thrill adventure, and doesn't mind getting wet, this is definitely the spot to go to!!!

  We've done rafting before, but this surpassed past experiences!
  
  A half-day trip takes you across a 7.5 miles run across White Salmon River. There were 4 of us in a raft + a guide (2 adlts, 2 teens - 15 & 11). The activities were age appropriate for everyone: rafting, swimming in the cold lake, jumping to the water from a cliff, and going over a 10 ft. waterfall while on the raft (our 11 year old was asked to walk that part).
  
  Our guide - Mitch, was so calm and professional, made us feel safe through class-5 rapids, and ensured we felt comfortable throughout the experience

  Wind River Rafting Trip July 11, 2016

  Loved these folks! I took my two kids (12 & 14) last weekend and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The trip is filled with breathtaking scenery and the crystalline clarity of the river is unparalleled.
  
  Charlie was an experienced and personable guide who did a great job letting the kids take well-measured risks (sitting at the bow of the raft, all Titanic-like). They loved it!
  
  Bonus: at the end of the day, I drove my car into a rocky hole in the parking lot and couldn't get it out. Charlie and the other guides helped me get it out and waited until I drove away to laugh at my boneheadedness.
  
  Thanks, River Drifters. We'll be back!

  This place is great - we were first timers rafting. The guide was fantastic, our son loved being on the raft and doing crazy things, always under the watchful eye of our guide. Highly recommend these guys.

  We loved it! We are a family of five, with kids ages 6, 8, and 10. First time river rafters. We did the Deshutes River which was perfect. It was a great mix of calm and excitement. Our raft guide Ryan was super cool and knowledgeable, and made sure our trip was safe but fun. Highly recommended.

  Just came back from a white water rafting half-day trip this weekend, booked with River Drifters. It was our group's first time rafting and the experience was amazing. River Drifters did an excellent job of organizing and getting even us first-timers ready to go! Our awesome guide Mitch made it a blast for us and kept the entertainment going. Highly recommend River Drifters...We are planning to book a whole day trip next time we go. Loved it that much!!

  LOVE this company, staff, and experience! One of my most memorable rafting trips! We came during the month of March which made us their very first trip for the season. They were super friendly and informative. Our raft leader Ryan was great!! He gave us great instructions and made the trip so much fun. Even though it was about 50 degrees out, we got all the proper gear and clothing that kept us warm throughout the trip! The whole experience lasted about 2 hours and we left there at around 2 pm with a start time of 11am. To top off everything, the owner even gave us a FREE usb with all of our pictures!!! Would definitely come back!

  afted in early September. Just my wife and I and the guide because it was midweek and just after Labor day. The guide ( I apologize for forgetting his name) was excellent; personable and professional....he knew how to make the trip fun and adventurous and yet respectful that my wife had a shoulder injury and was not able to paddle or hold on tight for much of the trip.
  
  The gear was top notch (splash jackets were available to repel the water), the lunch was fresh, tasty and filling (I expected cheap, stale and not good so that was an unexpected bonus) and the adventure of the river and the changing landscape was exactly as advertised. Everything from the website was accurate and we felt safe. Highly recommend River Drifters.
  
  Note: The river is not all that wide. The trip may not have been as fun during peak season with a lot of rafters on the river. Secondly, be prepared to paddle against strong currents. I underestimated how tiring it would be from the website.

  I came here for a half day trip and it was awesome! Larry was our guide and boy was he fantastic. My companion and I were in a raft with another couple. We were given a wet suit, shoes, a helmet, and a water jacket. We took a short bus ride to the river and halfway we stopped to take a look at the class 5 rapid for insurance reasons (required consent on our behalf for insurance reasons). The river was lower than normal but that wasn't an issue was we were taken through class 3 and 4 rapids. At one point, we got out of the raft and trekked along the river to jump off a 18 foot cliff into the river. Everything about this trip was amazing and it was well priced at $60 for a half day. Our guide was a native and let us get out and drink from the underground springs bubbling up into the river. Giardia lambdis be darned, that water was the best, sweetest tasting water I've ever tried in my life. The entire trip was wonderful, safe and beautiful. The river and surrounding environment was gorgeous.

  What a wonderful day! We had a blast. The guides are so funny and very personable. We have our two young children with us and thy took that in consideration. Family friendly all the way!

  This was the first time my sister and I went rafting and River Drifters made this entire experience unbelievably epic! Our guides were Charlie and Wes, who were both very personable, professional, and fun! They provided all the gear that was needed and I was happy that they gave us some booties so we wouldn't mess up our shoes. Their gear is pretty solid so I suggest using everything that they recommend you to wear. They also provided a helmet had a gopro mount, which we got some gnarly pictures with. Overall, we had an EXCELLENT, thrilling time. Definitely will come back for more of that whitewater!
