    Military Sabre Fighting

    No matter what else you're wearing, nothing says successful man or woman about town like a sharply pointed sabre. The sabre was once a basic sidearm of the military, widely worn across Europe and the U.S. In the 18th Century,Henry Angelo, a fencing and broadsword master to the Light Horse Volunteers of London and Westminster, published manuals for training the British Military. In this class, you'll discover Henry's methods, as well as many others, as you learn the art of military sabre fighting. In addition to the Angelo tradition, you'll also study the technique outlined by fencing historian Alfred Hutton, and draw methods from the US Naval Academy publication "Principles of Squad Instruction for the Broadsword". As your professional instructor takes you through each method, you'll develop a rich wealth of knowledge that will come together with hands-on practice for a class experience that's sure to please.

    Brewery Bike Tour

    Experience Portland's world-famous beer culture on this fun bike tour - the perfect way to explore this gorgeous city. Following your local guide on easy bike ride, visit several top-notch microbreweries such as Bridgeport and Deschutes to sample several beers, with all tastings included. After meeting your friendly local guide in downtown Portland in the afternoon, hop on your bike for a leisurely, mostly flat 5-mile (8-km) ride through this beautiful city.

    Visit several of the 40 microbreweries and brewpubs that give Portland its national reputation for beer. Most of these beloved breweries brew their beers on site, and some you'll visit may include Bridgeport, Deschutes, the McMenamin's Crystal Ballroom, Lucky Labrador, New Old Lompoc, Rogue and Tugboat Brewing.

    In addition to sampling refreshing, fresh-brewed beer, you'll also take behind-the-scenes tours to see where the magic happens!

    In between breweries, your guide will point out the city's best bars, restaurants and local hotspots in the downtown area, the Pearl District and northwest Portland. Pass famous Powell's Books, one of the world's largest independent bookstores, and cycle past coffee drinkers outside Stumptown Coffee.

During your 30-minute stop here, learn about the amazing engineering feat of the damn and fish ladder at the visitor's center and admire the dam from the outdoor viewing area. Return to Portland along the river-level route of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
