    Gorge Rafting Trip (Fridays/Sundays)

This trip will get you acclimated to rafting with a gentle start. You'll kick the day off at the meeting spot at Camp Lotus, and it won't be long before you test your skills on the water. First you'll warm up on Class II rapids with peaceful calm stretches where you're welcome to even jump in the river for a swim. At some point you'll pull over at a peaceful spot and grab some lunch at a tasty riverside picnic. The "big rapids" come next when you pass The Lollipop Tree. From there on out you're in the wild wild west -- er, "American River Gorge," which might as well be one and the same, in the rafting world. You'll get to traverse through fun rapids with exciting names such as "Satan's Cesspool," "Lost Lunch," and "The Surprise." Then, the highlight of the tour and everyone's favorite: "The Hospital Bar." At the end of your journey you'll head back to Camp Lotus, where you can shower, change, and grab something to eat. These one-day South Fork American River trips are great for first-time rafters, but still plenty of fun for the seasoned veterans as well. Don't get too wet!

    20 Rafting Trips (Saturdays)

You read it right: TWENTY TRIPS in one day. Can you do it?! Of course you can. Meet your guide in the morning at the beautiful Camp Lotus, and then head to the actual launch site just below Chili Bar Dam -- but don't get too hungry upon seeing the word chili... you have *literally* miles to go before you eat. Better make sure you grab some breakfast beforehand. The first stretch will start you off with a bang, and within a few minutes you'll be paddling through Meatgrinder, the South Fork's longest rapid. Every rapid before lunch is consistent, including Racehorse Bend, Triple Threat, and the Trouble Maker. Around lunch you'll have gone ten miles and be back at Camp Lotus for a nice hearty picnic. The second half of the day will be gentler -- until you pass The Lollipop Tree that is. After that it picks up as you enter the famous American River Gorge, where rapids with exciting names like "Satan's Cess Pool," "Lost Lunch", and "The Surprise" will quench your thirst for thrills.
