Sick of being the boring one at the post-work happy hour? It's time you went on an adventure fit for the storybooks -- or at least for the watercooler.
Start the morning with a scenic ride along Gold Country Highway 49, which passes the river where the California Gold Rush started! Hop out at the launching point and get outfitted with your pfd (life jacket), helmet, and paddle. After the river safety orientation, you'll break into groups and dive into The Chili Bar Run down the South Fork American River.
Get to the good stuff right away as you hit the Class III "Meatgrinder", the longest rapid on the river. The morning session is packed with rapids that will challenge and thrill you. After the famous rapid, "Troublemaker", take a break while your guides prepare a deli-style buffet lunch with all the trappings at the James Marshall Gold Discovery Site!
After you refuel, relax on a mellow section before you finish at the restrooms. You'll be rewarded for beating the river with cold drinks and snacks, before you take a bus back to camp. Your guides will be there to thank you for coming and give you photo coupons good for money off your rapid photo purchase (if you wish).
Nobody's going to be calling you boring any time soon.
Note: Please advise us through the special requests box if anyone in your group has allergies, special dietary needs or restrictions, or medical conditions that we should be aware of. Women who are pregnant should NOT participate in whitewater rafting activities. Participants with heart conditions should consult with their physician prior to signing up for any rafting trip.
