View La Jolla's picturesque coastline and the majestic cliffs rising above Black's Beach as you soar over the Glider Port at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. On this flight you'll be seeking out the great Blue Whale - the largest mammal on planet Earth. Adult Blue Whales can grow to more than 100' long and weigh over 150 tons. December to April each winter they take part in their annual migration just off the coast of San Diego travelling south from Alaska, past San Diego, on the way to give birth to their new calves in the warm bays and lagoons of Baja California. The new whale babies along with their moms and dads head back north mid winter and early spring to spend the summer months feeding in Alaska. While in flight, it is common to see pods of playful dolphins, slap-happy seals, or barking sea lions. Whale and Dolphin Watching Sail

There is nothing quite as humbling as sailing along the water next to one of the largest animals on Earth: the gray whale. The annual migration of gray whales along San Diego's coast is one of nature's most incredible spectacles. Each year about 26,000 gray whales undertake a round trip migration of over 10,000 miles from the icy Arctic waters of Alaska to the warm tropical lagoons around the tip of Baja California Sur where the females give birth to their calves. Because gray whales are relatively slow swimmers, they need to surface every three to five minutes to blow a few times before they dive under again, giving you ample opportunity to view the whales up close. With your captains extensive knowledge of the diving, breathing, and migration patterns of the whales, you will be ready for a successful whale watching cruise in San Diego. Seeing these majestic mammals is a memorable, fun, and educational activity for anyone.
