In Spanish coronado means “crowned”, so Coronado Island is aptly named. It’s truly the crown of San Diego, and there's no better way to explore it than with a guided bike tour.
As you meander the beach bike paths and back roads, you'll learn the storied history of Coronado, see the famed landmarks, and experience the culture that is unique to the quaint island. You’ll start with a ferry ride from Downtown San Diego to Coronado. Once you arrive, you’ll ride through the neighborhoods of cottages, under the Coronado Bridge, and to the Hotel Del Coronado. You’ll also have a stop at the Navy SEAL training center. As you cruise along the beach, you’ll take in the stunning views of the downtown skyline, Petco Park, and San Diego Bay. The pace is not strenuous and the route is almost entirely flat. The riding on this tour is all on bike lanes, bike paths, and roads. The tour is approximately 4-7 miles, and well worth the trip. Get ready for some amazing sites.
Note: You must be at least 13 years or older. You will be provided with a multi-speed hybrid-type bicycle, helmet, water, snacks, guide, and admission to the La Jolla Cave Store.
