Snorkeling in La Jolla is unlike snorkeling anywhere else in Southern California, and one of the best ways to experience this incredible area is to swim amongst dozens of leopard sharks at La Jolla Shores. When the water gets warm in late spring, dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of harmless leopard sharks congregate in the shallows here to breed and feed. Your knowledgeable guide will help you find these beautiful creatures for an up-close experience that you won't soon forget! Not only will you swim with the sharks, you'll also explore the sandy flats and sand dollar beds while looking for rays and the unique 5 foot shovel nose guitar fish. Swim over the kelp reefs to look for fish, lobster, and even the occasional green sea turtle. There’s a whole other world to discover under the sea, and it’s about time you caught a peek!
Note: Require a minimum of 2 people to place booking. You must be at least 8 years or older and must be able to swim. The areas explored will depend on the ability of the group. Under most conditions, a moderate swimming ability is sufficient. You will be provided with a full or half wet suit (if needed), snorkel, mask, fins, and naturalist/biologist guide.
