Canopy Tree Climbing October 4, 2016I have to say, the thought of scaling 220 ft got me nervous at first. The guides explanation on procedure, and safety got me passed the fears. Once you start getting set up with the harness and start going up, it was a lot of fun! Took me a little to get the form down. Its all about using your legs to not use a lot of arm strength.
My guide was very patient with me and great to talk with!
I honestly had a great time! I wish I took my phone up to take pictures but I didn't have pockets.. Overall, that view was amazing! I went on a day where the trees were swaying a little. It was interesting because you swayed with the tree and personally I enjoyed it. A great experience and I would be happy to refer this to my friends and family! Thanks again AdventureTerra! -

Canopy Tree Climbing September 12, 2016My boyfriend and I did this on our trip to Seattle. I was very excited to do this but did get scared to go all the way to the top. My boyfriend made it all the way up (190 ft), I probably made it about half way. A little more encouragement from the instructor would have been nice but I understand he probably did not want to push me to do more than I wanted. However, maybe a little more conversation and encouragement could have helped me go all the way to the top.

Canopy Tree Climbing May 30, 2016I'm not an athletic person, but I do like to get out and hike. Easy ones. That being said, I climbed a REALLY big tree while I was out visiting the area with Adventure Terra. Never thought I would do something like that but something told me I would regret it if I didn't try. I am 44 years old I have gained about 35 pounds over the last couple of years, but our guide David did something somehow and made the load lighter so I could hoist myself up (he climbed in tandem with me, we each had our own ropes but he climbed when I climbed). If you are in shape, you can do this in 5 minutes to a half hour depending on your experience. If you are like me, about 35 - 40 pounds overweight and out of shape, it might take you longer (because you aren't used to using those muscles). It took me an hour and a half. The great thing I got out of this, aside from the view when I got to the to top, is that I fought through my urge to quit and was able to take that away with me. The feeling of accomplishment was pretty sweet. Britt, out other guide, did a great job of explaining things and I felt very secure while climbing up. They have something new now since we have been there - you can take the ferry over from downtown Seattle and they will pick you up and take you back. That's really cool. You do use your legs more than you arms on this climb, so ladies, don't be afraid to do this. One reality check I want to mention though, because it would be a disservice if I didn't - if you are really overweight and don't have a lot of muscle mass, this may not be for you. I am not trying to discourage anyone but you have to be realistic because you do have to be able to handle some your own body weight. Someone did ask the unfortunate question about clients that are overweight and one guide reluctantly shared that they did have to cancel a trip because the client was about 100 pounds overweight and just too heavy to get very far. The guides have ways to get around the extra baggage you may be carrying around, but there is only so much they can do. I think I got lucky that David was able to climb tandem with me and take off some of that load. Thank you David for helping me get to the top, literally. That was SOO worth it. If you have weight concerns (again, I am not trying to give anyone a complex or discourage anyone, our guides were very gracious), you could contact the company and give them your height and weight and ask them if they think it would be a go. That's my suggestion. These are very nice people and doing something like this is really really cool.

Canopy Tree Climbing September 17, 2015I went with my 11 and 13 yr boys for the sunset climb. It was strenuous but sooooo worth it. Our guide Nico was excellent. If we lived in Seattle area we would be back in a heart beat. One word...GO!

Canopy Tree Climbing September 16, 2015My best friend surprised me with the canopy tree climbing for my birthday and it was so much fun! Completely unlike anything else I've done. We made it to the top just after sunset and I can't think of a more incredible place to watch the sky change, than perched atop a 200ft tree. Absolutely stunning!
Nico picked us up at the ferry, totally hassle free. And Leo was a great guide! Very patient, fun and enthusiastic.
I'll totally be back for future adventures! -

Canopy Tree Climbing September 2, 2015I did the canope tree climbing and loved going all the way up. The view from up there is beautiful and it’s incredible to see the forests from above and the Olympics; what a different perspective !
For people worrying about vertigo, I am usually afraid of heights but I didn’t feel sick going up. The equipment makes you feel super safe and Leo (who took us up) was very reassuring. After a while you don’t even see the ground because of the branches of the other trees. I also found it very reassuring to have the same looking tree trunk in front of me while going up.
If you're looking for a different panoramic view on the region, it’s definitely a must do ! -

Canopy Tree Climbing August 11, 2015The experience was fantastic! Our two guides were experienced, fun, and relaxed. They made us feel very safe during our canopy climb. I ended up losing my wallet and they were able to locate it and ship it back in a timely manner. Don't forget to empty your pockets!

Canopy Tree Climbing June 24, 2015I don't normally write reviews, however I feel this experience deserves one. Yesterday we went canopy tree climbing with AdventureTerra and it was AMAZING. From start to finish it was incredible. First we were greeted at the meeting spot by the instructors who were very friendly and welcoming. The location was super easy to find and not far from the ferry. After introductions we took a short hike to where the trees were and got started. The instructors were extremely patient and explained everything well. It took a second to catch on which led to some great laughs but once we got the hang of it, it was a piece of cake. They were with us the whole time so there was never a time where we didn't feel completely safe. We were able to climb and swing and if we thought to bring snacks, we could have had a picnic on the branches at the top of the tree :) It was truly something I will never forget. I have already told all of my friends and coworkers and would suggest it to anyone who wants to just chill out and have nice mid-week break or a fun Saturday adventure. The instructors were the perfect combination of professional and personable. It was like climbing with friends. BEST DAY EVER!
