Great way to start off our vacation in Seattle. The weather was perfect today (July 29) and we saw a sea lion, seals, and other wildlife. The safety intro was informative. This is awesome for beginners. They only have double kayaks which was perfect for us. It was well worth the money and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

My coworkers and I went on a group tour with Ballard Kayak and had a great time! I'd never been in a Kayak before but the staff were friendly and encouraging... I was paddling around easily in no time. I would totally recommend taking a trip with friends or a date.

We kayaked to discovery point from shilshole marina with Devin & Jay. They were awesome & knowledgeable as well S super patient with the group. We had nice sandwiches and got some nice photos. Great trip :)

Let me just say, AWESOME! They easily accommodated my group of ten, we saw an amazing sunset (and plenty of marine life!), and the staff made everything so easy.
The person in the back of my kayak had never done it before and can't swim (they are double kayaks) and it started off a little stressful but by the end it was a breeze. Everyone who works here is clearly skilled, and very friendly. No judgement whatsoever. They go out of their way to make the experience excellent.
The owner is also fantastic. One of the nicest and most knowledgable people I've met. He spends most of his time on the water and that lends to his expertise.
This tour is fantastic! My group will definitely be returning :)

The best place in Seattle for kayak tours. High quality, well maintained gear. Funny knowledgable guides who treat you like adults - meaning they let you have fun instead of being insane about rules/technique etc but also do a good job teaching/coaching in a very natural way.
And since you're in Shilshole Bay, you have a good chance of seeing wildlife unlike paddling in other locations in the area - on any given day, you'll have the chance to see starfish, seals, sea lions, fish, birds, etc.
A great local business and must do for locals and visitors.

My team recently got together at Ballard Kayak for our annual Team Building event. Blaine was an amazing guide who did a great job showing us the wildlife. The paddle was followed by a delicious salmon bake on the beach. This place provides the full package. As the organizer this was a stress-free and painless event. They handled everything!

The tour was awesome. The guides, Matt and Devin, were great! They were knowledgeable, safe and funny. Going through the locks was incredible, second ONLY to watching the "running" salmon jumping in and out of the water right next to our kayak!!
Thanks again guys!
