About this Activity
Tai Chi, while used for defense training for many years, is also shown to improve balance and core strengthening. You will learn Tai Chi through DahnMuDo, an ancient Korean comprehensive system of movement. Satisfy yourself by renewing your ability to use energy. It can be practiced by people of any age, so even your little one can tag along.
Qigong, a healing medicine practiced through breathing techniques and meditation, will cleanse and strengthen your inner self. Say goodbye to your everyday stresses with this technique.

To reap the benefits of body & brain yoga, you must come with an open heart and mind. The various stretching and tapping routines focus on preparing oneself to meditate. With all the noise in this world & our minds racing 24/7, body & brain has helped me to become centered for the first time in my life. Since coming to this center I have stopped taking my anxiety medication and feel calmer than I have ever felt in my adult life. Everyone at the center is kind & full of joy. I didn't know I was looking but I have found a community that I love to be a part of. This center is my home away from home...I feel grounded and centered as soon as I step in the door.

I moved to Seattle 5 months ago. I feel lucky because I found the Body & Brain Yoga Center in Ravenna Park. Classes are awesome! The teachers are so kind. Since I started, I don’t have my headaches anymore. I feel more connected with myself, more focused, and so happy after meditation.
I leave each class with lots of energy and a proactive, positive attitude.

This is not average Yoga Center. In fact, it's not yoga at all. No downward dog. No mountain pose. Not that there aren't similarities. Taking an Hour long class will energize nearly every muscle in your body. Muscles you didn't know you had. It will also make clear very quickly, your flexibility or lack thereof. But flexibility isn't the goal here. Quieting the mind, making your body one with your mind is. Come for flexibility and you get serenity as a byproduct. Clarity of mind and purpose. Freedom from stress.
Body and Brain is so much more than a Yoga center. After 9 months, my outlook on life has transformed. I love my classes and am starting to practice at home. The staff is incredible. Practitioners themselves. Giving. Encouraging. Completely committed.
Words don't do Body and Brain justice. If you are looking for a spiritual home, without dogma, try one or two classes. You will get far more than you paid or bargained for. I did.

I sincerely enjoy all that is offered here and highly recommend to everyone that they give it a try. The practice and principles are simple, straight forward and clearly demonstrated by very skilled and thoughtful trainers. Each class is consistently unique and powerful. One of my personal favorites is the vibration class where the tension held in my body is joyfully released and I experience my unique natural rhythm. I also really appreciate the very relaxing and insightful meditation portion of each class.
Through this practice I have learned to utilize my own healing power and creative potential. My body is very grateful AND my life is moving forward in the direction I choose. I have learned to breathe deeply and center myself both when under pressure and simply for the joy of being fully alive and present in the moment. I love sharing this practice!!
