What’s SUP? Short for “stand-up paddleboarding,” SUP is a watersport with a fervent following amongst outdoor enthusiasts worldwide. Participants stand atop a wide-body surfboard, and maneuver about by means of a body-length paddle. Easy to get into, SUP nonetheless offers great core fitness benefits, and near endless options for outdoor adventure.

Intrigued? This 2-hour introduction on Liberty Bay will get acquainted with the basics. Learn the nomenclature, and all about the various types of board. Head out on the water to master mounting, footwork, and basic paddling technique. With a knowledgeable and supportive instructor guiding you, you’ll develop both the foundation and the confidence to start to planning your own outings.

Note: Participants are required to sign a Release Form. Boards and equipment are available to rent at the facility. All paddleboard rentals include individually fitted personal flotation device, paddle and board leash. Dry suits and wetsuits are also available for rent though they are not required.
