Walking Food Tour Of Pike Place Market July 9, 2016I've lived in Seattle for eleven years and had out of state guests so we checked out the Pike Place food tour. Amy was our energetic, informed and engaging tour guide. There was a good balance of sampling delicious foods at the market along with the walking tour and historic information. I recommend this tour not only for visitors to Seattle but for those of us who live here too. I will go back to the restaurants and food stalls that we visited today.

Walking Food Tour Of Pike Place Market April 16, 2016The Taste Pike Place Food Tour was the highlight of our trip for sure. Jerry was an amazing guide and went above and beyond to share the history of the market, give us the best experiences possible, and accommodate our gluten free restrictions.
The tour was about 3 hours long and started at one end of the market, wound through it, and finished on the other end. We ate almost to the point of exploding - but the food was so amazing and such high quality. We had biscuits, gelato, samosas, tea, yogurt, smoked salmon, tacos al pastor, truffle oil samples, bavarian sausages, pickles, salad, salmon burgers, and I'm sure I even forgot something.
It is the way to do the Market for sure - so rich in history and we are so glad we had a local to give us the insider tour! -

Walking Food Tour Of Pike Place Market April 13, 2016We walked into the "Taste Pike Place Food Tour" expecting to sample some yummy food...after the 2.5 hr. tour, we not only walked away with happy bellies, but with a great appreciation of the history, community and the people that makes Pike Place so wonderful. Our lovely tour guide, Penny, was a splendid story teller with a quirky magnetic energy and her love for Pike Place was infectious. Walking through this tourist hub by yourself was just "meh"... but exploring the many colorful layers of the market via this tour made it hands down the highlight of our Seattle trip. (One of the other tour companies offers personal audio devices, but we had no problem hearing our guide - there were 6 in our group)

Walking Food Tour Of Pike Place Market April 11, 2016I have lived in Seattle my entire life (32 years) and thought that this tour might be a little redundant or boring. I'm happy to say was wrong! There were 5 other people on the tour, all visitors, and we all agreed that our guide, Penny, made what we all thought was a food tour multi-dimensional. She made it about food but also about people. We heard stories and met business owners (and their families) that brought the market to life. The 2.5 hour tour flew by - we ate some delicious food (some of which I had no idea was at the market), learned a lot, and stayed entertained the entire time. I would take this tour again, take friends and family from out of town, and recommend to others. Fantastic!

Walking Food Tour Of Pike Place Market March 13, 2016While we have visited Pike Place Market many times, we picked up a great deal of new nuggets from the tour, which included the history of the area, hidden gems and tips about the best of the various vendors. Our guide, Leslie, is a real pro - very cheerful, patient and loud enough for all to hear above the din of the Market. We were amazed at the nooks and crannies we had never previously seen/noticed and appreciated the opportunity to try some of the best food without waiting in long lines (like for the chowder, samosas and doughnuts).
I came with a concern about having enough to eat, since this was replacing our lunch, but we got plenty to eat over the course of the tour. It was like attending a very diverse buffet. While any individual sample may not have been large, many were well beyond bite-size, particularly the doughnuts, smoked salmon, chowder and Greek yogurt. I have to admit it was tough to settle for a sample of many of the foods, because they were so good, I would have eaten a lot more, given the chance. One of the last samples was a quarter of a salmon burger from one of Tom Douglas' places - which really was a great finish for the tour.
The only bad news was that the terrific Greek yogurt we tasted, which is the only yogurt I have ever been able to get down, is not widely available outside Seattle. Bummer. -

Walking Food Tour Of Pike Place Market March 5, 2016My husband and I went with another couple, and we all had a fabulous time. Penny is a knowledgeable and fun guide. We now have many more favorite places to visit when we go to the market, and I can't believe I didn't even know these treasures existed. From tea to gellato to samosas to chowder, and on and on: each stop was a delight. Only suggestion is for samples to come with water: we were all very thirsty when done.
