The Rued Family started a tradition of farming and grape growing in Sonoma County in 1882. Located just seconds northwest of the historic Dry Creek Store, the winery has started a new tradition of making wine. During this private tasting, you'll be greeted on arrival with a taste of a classic Chardonnay. The tour then moves on to showcase the estate vineyard. Afterwards, it's off to the cellar for samples right out of the barrel. When you're finished, your group will take a seat on the patio at the picnic tables for a private tasting of the estate reds paired with artisan cheeses and other nibbles. When you are all done, stop by the tasting room for a gift from the Rued Family. It's going to be a barrel of fun!

    Sonoma Valley Wine Tasting and Alcatraz Combo Tour

    Your combo tour begins at Fisherman's Wharf, where you'll board the tour bus for the drive to Sonoma Valley. After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, pull over at a vista point to take pictures of the bridge and enjoy views of San Francisco Bay and the Marin Headlands. Then you'll head across the bridge for the 45-minute drive to your first winery, Viansa, for a tour and tasting. You have about 45 minutes at Viansa before continuing 15 minutes up the road to Larson Family Winery for your second tasting. You will then make the 1-hour drive back to Fisherman's Wharf, where your guide leaves you with your Alcatraz tickets. At this point, you're on your own for the rest of the tour, so grab some lunch at the wharf and do a little sightseeing. You have about two hours of free time before you need to head to Pier 33 to check in and board the public Alcatraz ferry (either walk about 20 minutes or take a taxi or pedicab). Tour the former prison on your own with its award-winning audio tour, and admire the sweeping views of San Francisco Bay. You can take the ferry back to Pier 33 when you're ready; most visitors spend about two hours at Alcatraz.
