Need to brush up on your berimbau skills? Or find out what a berimbau is? This music workshop is the perfect place to explore the inspirational and highly danceable music of capoeira and maculele.
You’ll explore the rhythms and songs of these two popular Afro-Brazilian arts under the guidance of actual “Mestra” - the title given to top capoeiristas. Work on a range of basic to advanced skills with not only the berimbau, but other instruments common in capoeira, such as the atabaque and pandeiro.
This class is the perfect chance if you’re a musician looking to explore a new form, or a capoeira dancer trying to better understand the musicality of your art. Or, you know, just a fun time to play some fly beats.
