Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay October 7, 2020Great experience but our initial booking was cancelled and they had to reschedule our booking to another day. The day we got moved to was really terrible weather so we ended up sitting inside the entire time which kind out defeats the purpose.
The boat is nice though and staff very friendly -

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay April 24, 2017I booked the sunset sail for my boyfriend's birthday--you can't duplicate this view and experience in any other way.
You get a super helpful email of instructions before the booking. The crew does exactly as they promise. They're punctual, relaxed and make the entire experience as great as it can be. If you're looking for a tour, this probably isn't what you want. If you're looking to see an incredible sunset at every angle of the Golden Gate Bridge and all that's around it, up-close and personal, yes. Go with your friends, family, significant other, whatever the occasion. It's beautiful, refreshing, cold (so seriously dress warmly), and an irreplaceable memory. We had fun, got to relax, enjoyed the view, loved the sail ride. -

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay October 30, 2014The must ride at Pier 39. Its absolutely magnificent. Honestly its truly an enjoyable experience and the crew was so friendly. From the normal ferry ride or fast ride, this ride allow you to take aback and be really close to the ocean. Took the 1pm session. Must say the timing was good for lots of photography. Even experience some dolphins along the ride....I must say its a MUST ride here at Pier 39.....

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay October 20, 2014Totally unplanned, my wife and I took this charter during a visit to San Francisco to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It ended up being the highlight of our trip.
The crew couldn't possibly be nicer. Also, you really felt their sense of pride in what they did throughout the entire trip. This, in our opinion, was the best value in the entire "tourist" area of San Fran. Don't miss it! -

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay October 17, 2014There are a lot of ferry cruises available in SF, but definitely go for the sailboat! This was so much fun! There weren't many people that day, and we were on the larger boat, so there was plenty of room to spread out. There are nets on the front of the boat that you can sit in, but you might get splashed! They also have a small cash bar. Do not be late or they will leave you, the dock is right next to where the sea lions are - down the left side of the pier.

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay September 29, 2014I recently sailed with Adventure Cat, for the second time. My first experience was big fun. It's hard to believe my second experience was even better. The crew is professional yet very friendly. I even was allowed to take the wheel for a few minutes! Sailing under the Golden Gate was a big highlight. Seeing the bridge from that perspective gives you a hint of it's massiveness. The dock can be a bit tricky to find so if it's your first time get there early. It's located right before the sea lion hangout. I highly recommend spending the day on the bay with adventure cat.

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay September 29, 2014I loved this ride. Not too touristy quiet and relaxing. The views were wonderful. All around excellent The guys on the boat were really great. All very friendly and helpful. Including giving an excellent restaurant recommendation for places around Hayes Valley. Would highly recommend this to people looking for some relaxing, quiet sightseeing.

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay September 24, 2014The captain and crew at Adventure Cat Sailing Charters in San Francisco have the best jobs on the waterfront; and the wind in San Francisco doesn't disappoint. Our sailing charter was on a 50 foot catamaran. A very stable vessel. Non sailors should not fear, the wind is strong but catamarans remain level and feel very secure. The cabin is sheltered from most of the wind and warm jackets are provided if needed. Guests are welcome to go out on deck the enjoy the wind and water from the unsheltered bow of the vessel where stiff handrails keep everyone safe.
Sailors will enjoy the steady, breezy conditions. We found 25+knot winds which we're described by a crew member as 'a little light'. As soon as we left the harbor our sails went up; the engine was turned off and remained off, a true sailing trip, as we hoped. Fog didn't bother us one but as we screamed across the Bay passing Alcatraz, heading for Sausalito then tacking and passing under the iconic Golden Gate bridge.
This was the highlight of my trip to San Francisco. Thanks Adventure Cat!! -

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay September 20, 2014We did the sunset cruise 9/19. It was foggy and windy, but they had extra jackets and the views were still great. We definitely thought it was worth the money.

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay September 14, 2014I love, love, love being on the water and this sunset excursion was awesome. They sail underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and past Alcatraz so you have some great photo ops. The water was beautiful at sunset and the city lights as we docked were really pretty. It's cold at night in November so bring a sweater!

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay September 7, 2014We booked a sunset sail for our first night in San Francisco. It was a wonderful experience. It was a two hour sail. They had drinks and food for everyone and also had extra coats for anyone who got cold (myself included). We were a little worried that we wouldn't have a great experience because it was a bit overcast when we started, however, when we got past Alcatraz, the sun broke through and created some beautiful scenery around us. When we got to the Golden Gate Bridge, it was overcast again, but it did not ruin the experience, in fact, it was actually pretty cool to see that way. We recommend this experience to anyone seeing San Francisco for the first time.

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay August 26, 2014Gorgeous views of San Francisco and the surrounding areas. The Skipper and crew were friendly and laid back.
It is sooooooo much nicer to cruise without engine noise as you cut through the waters of San Fran Bay.
This is a MUST DO if you are visiting the bay area. -

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay August 22, 2014The Cruise Was Great! Beautiful Scenery, Fantastic Crew, Priced Right. This was so enjoyable, and the heavy jackets on board for people to put on was an extra special touch.

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay August 7, 2014Absolutely must do it! It is thrilling. Do yourself a favor, though: don't wear shorts. When the wind is up it is REALLY brisk. Wearing something to cover your ears is also a good idea.
The boat flies over the water, under the GG bridge, near Sausalito, with great views of the City and Alcatraz. Way too many camera opportunities!
This is definitely something I'll recommend to my out-of-town visitors. -

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay August 4, 2014This catamaran sailing cruise is a once in a life time experience if visiting San Francisco. We even talked with several locals that never thought of cruising around the Bay and under the Golden Gate that decided to try it. You'll get up close to Alcatraz and great pictures next to and under the Golden Gate Bridge. For the Sunset cruise, definitely bring jackets but enjoy the sunset and relax with the sensational views

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay July 28, 2014This was my first time ever sailing. It was nerve-wracking not know what to expect. Things turned out great. I had so much fun sailing in the bay with Adventure Cat Sailing Charter. I was able to see Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge up close. Some of the pictures I took are priceless. The staff was very friendly and down to earth. They helped you take pictures if you wanted certain sites in the background. The weather was perfect. Words can't explain the beautiful scenery around Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. It gets very windy on the sailboat. I recommend bringing a jacket. I made the mistake of leaving my jacket miles away in Virginia. Luckily, staff had some spare jackets for customers. Guest has the option of standing out on the deck or sitting inside (covered). Drinks are sold on the sailboat. This was a great experience. Sailing in the San Francisco Bay ranks high on my "Best Things I've Ever Done List". Thanks for a great sail Adventure Cat Sailing Charter. It's best to make reservations.

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay July 26, 2014Went on Adventure Cat Sailing Charter on July 24th. Sailed from Pier 39, around Alcatraz Island, and under the Golden Gate Bridge. Staff was very accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and fun. They even provided jackets to those that needed them. Views were amazing - especially the views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the City of San Francisco. In my opinion, the price for this excursion is well below what it is really worth. Great job!

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay July 24, 2014Super fun! Excellent ride! The staff seemed very knowledgeable and thorough, as well as they were fun! If you are looking for a unique fun sail boat ride that will give you fantastic close-ups of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and bay views of the city, then you must put this trip on your list! Very enjoyable and we would absolutely do this again!

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay July 7, 2014We did the sunset catamaran cruise and it was wonderful. Staff were great. You really need to dress warm, it can get chilly! They drive by the bridge so bring your camera. I think we got our money worth and more doing this, such a great experience. This is a must do!

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay June 27, 2014Best sunset sail I've ever taken. Awesome staff, great snack selection plus two free drinks! Left promptly on time, even for a windy and choppy day it was a smooth sail. I will absolutely be taking this sunset sail again!

Bay Sail on San Francisco Bay May 5, 2014What an experience. Best scenery you can imagine. You will never see another scenery that is equal to cruising the bay just before sunset and seeing San Francisco from a 60ft catamaran.
Going under the Golden Gate Bridge was breathtaking. The views of the San Francisco skyline at night is amazing. I will warn you to please take a warm jacket. It gets very nippy on the bay. The sail crew was outstanding and very accommodating. I will definitely be back to take another cruise the next time I visit the bay area. 5-stars. -

Sunset Sail on San Francisco Bay November 22, 2013What can I say, I love Adventure Cat!
Been twice now and had to write a review for these guys.
Captain & Crew: Outgoing, funny, and technically-savvy professionals.
-Able to answer tough questions from another passenger who seemed to know his boat mechanics.
-Offered to take photos of people to help them capture the perfect "kodak moment." (See current profile photo)
-Genuinely take an interest in getting to know you
1PM or 4PM: Tough to beat sunset views of Golden Gate Bridge and the city. 4PM wins. Take your significant other and put the framed pic by your bed. -
