Ceramic tile is a remarkably versatile medium. It's so durable, it's perfect for creating interesting floors and tabletops, yet still delicate enough for decorative works of art. This class is the perfect gateway to large-scale, functional mosaic installations, along with smaller art pieces. A perfect combination of art history and hands-on crafting, you'll start with a slide show of the huge variety of ceramic mosaics, from flower pots made of broken dishes to the ornate plazas of Spain. You'll learn the techniques and tools needed to create any kind of ceramic mosaic project, large and small. You will apply what you're learning as you create a beautiful 11" x 11" piece of your own, perfect for hanging in your home.
