This workshop will take you to two of the Bay Area’s many markets, where you’ll get an introduction into working with farmers to make sure you get the best selection of fresh ingredients. You’ll also get a crash course on seasonality, learning when the best time to buy your favorite fruits and vegetables is, which means more flavor in your recipes.
After your farmer’s market shopping spree, you’ll head back to Kitchen on Fire to cook up your finds, learning some new kitchen tricks and recipes that will become fixtures in your home cooking routine.

About the Teacher
Chef Olive Said is the former co-owner and bar manager of the Cesar Tapas Bar in San Francisco, and the Texas Coyote in Paris. He hails from five generations of restaurateurs and has been cooking since starting his career at age 15 in his mother’s Paris restaurant.
