Learn how to make the wonderful, natural soaps you see at specialty stores and farmer's markets from scratch! Using only vegetable oil, lye, and essential oil and botanicals for scent, create beautiful, creamy lathering soaps that are actually good for your skin. As you begin to understand the cold process, you will become familiar with the equipment involved, and learn about different oils, safety techniques for working with lye (or sodium hydroxide), and how to create your own custom formula. After completing at least one batch, your soap will need to cure for 4-6 weeks, but you certainly won't be leaving empty handed -- take home 3 already cured cold process soap samples to hold you over until your custom-made product is ready to use!
