Tear up the city streets with a Segway, and then go straight to prison, during this unique San Francisco experience!
You’ll begin your day at Fisherman’s Wharf, where you’ll master the fundamentals of piloting a Segway during a 40-minute lesson. Afterward, you’ll hit the streets for a wide-ranging tour. Although Segways are relatively easy to master, your guide will keep a close eye on you, and even develop an itinerary matched to your comfort level.
Locations of note include Aquatic Park, the Maritime National Historical Park, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill, North Beach, Washington Square Park, and Pier 39. As you ride, you’ll conquer hills and crooked streets, and stop to take in remarkable views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco Bay, Coit Tower, Saints Peter and Paul Church, and more!
When your segway ride is complete, you’ll have time to walk to Pier 33 and grab some lunch, before hopping on the ferry for a 15-minute ride to Alcatraz Island. You’ll explore the infamous prison on your own during a self-guided tour that includes audio accompaniment. You can leave whenever you’d like, thanks to a round-trip ferry ticket.
Which is good, since the swim back to the city can get a little choppy.
Note: Please indicate the names and gender of participants in the special request box. For the Segway tour, pregnant women will not be permitted to participate. Riders must weigh between 100 and 250 pounds (45 to 113 kilos).
