Private Tour: George Washington's Mount Vernon

Looking for some “Presidential” treatment? Tour the former residence of legendary founding father and the first president, George Washington, during this VIP tour! You’ll explore his 21-room Mount Vernon home with a private guide, spending two hours checking out its interior and grounds. You can work with your guide to tailor the experience to your interests and will have all the attention you need to get your questions answered! This means you’ll enjoy historical insights and anecdotes that you might not get on a public tour. The tour begins with an introductory film into the life of Washington, or you can elect to forego the film and have your guide provide the introduction while walking you through the grounds of the late 18th-century English-style garden that Washington himself tended. Afterwards, you’ll explore the interior of the mansion, even visiting areas that most guests aren’t privy to. You’re invited to take the shuttle to the estate’s gristmill and distillery on your own and later will have the chance to lay a wreath at the Washington family tomb! By George, this is going to be a good one!
