    If you want to become a better photographer and create better photographs, the first step is getting to know your camera! This hands-on, three-hour workshop is intended to introduce you to the basic photographic principles that will allow you to understand how your camera works, including aperture, shutter speed, light sensitivity (ISO), lenses, focusing modes, metering modes and automatic vs. manual exposure setting. By the time the class is over you'll be familiar with basic camera operation (on your specific camera) and will have an understanding of photography basics.     In this all-levels class, your expert Annapolis-area instructor will review techniques for architectural photography as you prepare to photograph several historically significant buildings in the area. You'll practice shooting abstracts, using F-stops for blurred or sharpened backgrounds, taking close-ups, and more. You'll also learn all about photographing intricate bow carvings and nautical ropes and finding beauty in details, all the while developing the skills to make your future travel photography more interesting and colorful. The afternoon light will create the perfect setting and provide you with the chance to discover the best techniques for shooting during this time of the day. This Safari includes a visit to the state capitol as well as other historic buildings on State Circle, City Dock, and Main Street. You'll also explore the click-worthy scenery at Spa Creek and take in vistas of downtown Annapolis, the Naval Academy and the Chesapeake Bay.
