You'll enjoy the soft breeze of the Piscataway Creek and the overall calm of the Potomac River, a welcome break from the bustle of the city. You'll also discover the exciting variety of local wildlife. There will be an array of birds, including bald eagles, osprey, and great blue herons. You'll also see many different edible and medicinal plants! Once you're on land, you'll explore the various critters on the beach! You can even get out nets to comb the waters! After your beach exploration, you'll kayak back to the nature center for a brief wrap-up activity, during which you'll have time to munch on a snack you've brought from home.
