We went paddle boarding in Georgetown and it was great. Location was perfect- it was completely deserted in one direction and in the other direction we took some nice photos with a view of Washington landmarks. We hadn't paddle boarded before and it was a good place to try it out as the water was very calm.

I have done this several times. I usually do a kayak in the morning when they open so it is not that hot out yet. A FUN thing to do and a great way to see some sites. Very relaxing. I highly recommend this. I usually leave from Georgetown but have also used Navy Yard location.

My boyfriend and I rented a double kayak at the Georgetown boathouse and we had a great time. It is the perfect way to see DC from a different vantage point. You can go up and down the Potomac and the views are incredible. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you wear a swimsuit or something you don't mind getting wet in.

Perfekt kayaking for a beginner like me! Take the whole day out or just one hour. Kayaking or paddle boards and go up stream watching the nature life.

Capitol Riverfront Evening Tour
October 17, 2015
We signed up for the "fall foliage tour" and even though most of trees haven't changed colors it was a great experience. There are only four of us on the tour - maybe others were afraid about the weather (it was in the 50s but we were comfortable while paddling). We were given life vests and minimal instruction (not much needed) and helped into our boats. Our guide was really nice and told us a bit of history and identified parks and trails along the shore as we paddled by.

Great paddle boarding and kayaking in Washington DC. Paddle boarding was much easier than I thought. Greatest thing was if you wanted quiet nature w/ eagles and blue heron you go up river. If you want views of the city (Georgetown and Kennedy Ctr) w/ lots of people, you go down river. All on the same trip. It was amazing. Something for all preferences.

Easy, just walk right up, sign a waiver and off you go. Reasonable rates and a calm, quiet lagoon to paddle around in. Not much scenery but if you're just wanting to get on the water-- this is as easy as it gets.

Had a wonderful time kayaking with the twilight tour group. Hit wind against us on the way out and then no wind on the way back, but that didn't stop us from learning some awesome DC facts (especially about Teddy Roosevelt -- our tour guide definitely had a thing for Teddy!) and enjoying the beautiful sunset over the lighted buildings. The tour guides were super friendly and helpful, plus they were full of random, cool information about the history of the city. The kayaking was great. Enough to feel like a light workout. And the time of day was perfect to watch the sun set while we were kayaking. I definitely plan on returning for a paddle boarding tour!!
