I highly recommend All In One and Ghosts of Georgetown tours!

My husband and I tried the Ghosts of Georgetown waking tour. I had a lot of fun!!
Erin, our guide, is teacher during the day and was extremely knowledgeable and great with questions and kids. It's been YEARS since my last American History class, but I actually enjoyed all the learning that night.
The tour itself is not very difficult, or long. And by no means was our tour too spooky, a little creepy with some of the stories, but nothing to have anyone running away.
Must try!!! Great experience!!!

LOVED these tours. My 9 year old daughter and I took 2 tours while spending a couple days in DC. The Capitol tour with Dan was fun and interesting. He told great backstories with humor and excitement. Much more engaging than the official tour by the "red Coats" inside.
The Ghosts Georgetown tour with Erin was our favorite part of the whole trip. Spooky "true" stories but not too scary for kids. She was also very engaging and clearly had a passion for these stories.
Absolutely the best way to see DC!!!!!!

I've done two of these tours so far, and was impressed by both. The tour guides are knowledgeable and enthusiastic (Dan- if you're reading this, you were great on the Georgetown Historic tour!), and eager to answer any questions tourists may have. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to get to know the ins and outs of DC, historic or otherwise. They have a variety of tours to choose from, and the "name your own price" option can't be beat!

Super awesome Ghost Tour with Erin. She's really funny, smart, nice, and knowledgeable! Great storyteller as well! Bonus: my favorite part is how quality the tour is while being wow ~free~ if you want. Of course, it's always nice to show your appreciation with some ~$~ so we handed Erin some ~$~ by tour's end. For someone out of town, if I hadn't gone on the tour, Georgetown would have been a whole lot of cute buildings with a whole lot of text-book history. Instead, I learned so many new, awesome things, got sufficiently spooked, and had a great night walk!
Can't recommend enough!

So, a fact about me: I collect ghost stories. My book about D.C. is one of the best in my collection, so my standards for the DC by Foot ghost tour of Georgetown were pretty high. Results: I heard three (3!) good stories I had never heard before, and finally saw the locations of some of my favorites. There were no really significant stories missing from the tour. The tour is 90 minutes and progresses from the Old Stone House to the Exorcist Stairs. There are no actors that jump out at you on this tour -- just one well-informed tour guide and detailed, well-established stories.
