If you want to become a better photographer and create better photographs, the first step is getting to know your camera! This hands-on, three-hour workshop is intended to introduce you to the basic photographic principles that will allow you to understand how your camera works, including aperture, shutter speed, light sensitivity (ISO), lenses, focusing modes, metering modes and automatic vs. manual exposure setting. By the time the class is over you'll be familiar with basic camera operation (on your specific camera) and will have an understanding of photography basics. Most importantly, you’ll finally understand what all “those buttons” do.
Note: You will need to bring a camera that has different exposure modes and a full version of your camera owner’s manual with you to class. Those that have a manual exposure setting will benefit the most from this class.
What to expect
- Understand your DSLR camera, or any other camera that has a manual exposure mode setting
- Practice using the many functions under expert supervision
- Learn to create better photographs and become a better photographer
- Realize your creative potential and take full advantage of your camera’s operating system
