Mud & Merlot: Hand-building February 28, 2017When I moved to the area, I wanted to find some activity to get me out and doing something fun. I found the Ceramics class which ended up being super fun! Even though I had barely taken a throwing class before, the instructor Janet was super helpful, giving more attention to the students who wanted it while letting the more experienced potters throw without being held back.
The facility is great! Janet was super friendly, my fellow potters were super friendly, and the location is great. My only complaint would be that I would like more of a variety in color of the different glazes, it tended to be mostly blue, red, or brown, but the colors they did have were mostly beautiful. I grew my skills and intend to take another class later this year. -

Painting and Wine September 18, 2016Come here for anything art related for classes, sessions or just for fun. We came for the starry night DC painting class. It was awesome and the experience was relaxing and fun. We didn't have any music going cause a cord was missing. First drink was included and the next one is for purchase. Super helpful and friendly staffs. They validate parking.

Painting and Wine March 12, 2016The events they host make people want to get into art. I have learned how to make glass menorah and baskets. Very relaxing environment no one judges your ability and they will help you no matter what to make sure you have something going home that is gorgeous.

Mud & Merlot: Hand-building February 7, 2016I cannot rate this center highly enough! I've taken a variety of classes here, including Cocktails & Canvas, Fused Glass Plates workshops, and Abstract Painting: Experimental Pouring Techniques. VisArts has helped rekindle my love for creating! Their facility is clean and spacious and the class offerings are great. Kit, Kathie and Ellen in particular are truly amazing instructors--kind, knowledgeable, supportive and patient. No experience necessary! If you have any interest in creating art, I highly recommend VisArts!

Mud & Merlot: Hand-building November 11, 2014I took this in the Summer of 2012 and it was awesome. The two young guys who instructed the class were really enthusiastic and great teachers. They gave me pointers when I needed help and seemed so into it. One guy even drew something for me to copy onto my tile. I guess it helps that they have experience teaching summer camps for kids! We ended up needing a little extra time and they were so cool about staying late.

Painting and Wine May 19, 2014Took and Canvas and Cocktails class and really enjoyed it. It was fun, relaxed, informative, the teacher was helpful and approachable and the sunset view from the roof top was amazing. Would recommend for a fun girls night out or date night.

Painting Under the Stars September 30, 2013I came here for a rooftop painting night. The teacher was okay but she didn't seem very enthusiastic. I thought the location was good but you have to park in the garage. I circled around too many times not realizing that.
I think that maybe if they were a little bit more cheery and maybe played some music they could really improve this place. I might try another one here that isn't rooftop since it was a good experience overall. -
