Put some activity in your life with an Uechi-Ryu karate class! You will learn a mixture of the empty-hand maneuvers and a variety of training exercises. You'll start your class being led through a series of warm-up exercises that emphasize stretching, coordination, and balance. Be prepared for drills used to develop timing, speed, and precision. There is also a focus on how to generate power and maintain balance through proper posture and breath control. You'll ultimately be introduced to partnered drills and free fighting. Since the backbone of Uechi-Ryu is the exercise Sanchin, you'll develop muscle tone, spiritual concentration, dynamic strength, and powerful movement. It's a great way to get in shape while learning a unique martial art!
Note: This is a free trial class for first time students only. This class is open to men and women ages 16 and up.
